Generative AI and Digital Fashion
Tina Shetabi is a Ph.D. candidate in Human Sciences with a specialization in Apparel Design at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. Her research examines the integration of generative artificial intelligence and emerging digital technologies into fashion design education and practice, with particular attention to creativity, ideation, visualization, student learning, authorship, designer agency, ethics, and pedagogy.
Her teaching and creative practice bridge traditional apparel design and garment construction with emerging technologies, including generative AI, CLO3D, Adobe Creative Suite, augmented reality, and virtual reality. She has taught and co-taught courses in experimental apparel design, digital apparel design, visualization, design theory, color, patternmaking, and fashion product development.
Tina holds an M.A. in Textiles, Merchandising, and Fashion Design from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and a B.F.A. in Fashion Design from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Her scholarly work has been presented at conferences, while her creative work has been featured in exhibitions, digital-fashion projects, and runway collections at Omaha Fashion Week. Through her research, teaching, and design practice, she explores how emerging technologies can support meaningful human creativity and contribute to the future of fashion design and education.
