Rad Hourani's Secret Recipe For Unisex Fashion

Rad Hourani launched his unisex ready-to-wear line, Rad, by Rad Hourani in Paris in 2007. Creating genderless and timeless clothes. In 2014, he presented the first unisex collection to be shown in couture fashion week. His gender-bending designs are focused on clothes that would be found in men's and women’s wardrobes; like t-shirts, jackets, and pants. Rather than to present designs with men wearing skirts. His clothes are not tight-fitting to fit both genders perfectly and they are also not baggy that feel lazy. Instead, his designs are focused on a fit with a straight line that gives the wearer a longer body, looking sleek and sharp.

"I used to shop a lot but never found what I was looking for. There was always something missing - clothing was always categorized, whether it was tough, vintage, rock 'n' roll, or gothic. I wanted to cut away everything and find something that couldn't be defined. Who says we can't cross boundaries with clothes? Fashion shouldn't discriminate,"
says Rad Hourani

In terms of style that we can cross the invisible line between men and women wardrobes these days; that men cou easily wear skirts and dresses and women can comfortably wear suits and jackets. But here, Rad Hourani is not following that idea or thought. Instead, with his designs, he is creating a neutral area between men's and women’s wardrobes and I found it very thoughtful and creative.
